LESS GUESSWORK. MORE MEMES.How to make AI video memes.
Use a video for the scene and movement, and a photo for the new identity. A reference-based edit recasts the person in the clip; you do not need to describe an entire new scene from scratch.
The workflow
Choose the reference video.
Pick a prepared template or upload a clip up to 30 seconds and 50 MB. Look for a visible face, manageable movement and a clear moment to replace. Check the generation length, which can differ from the viral example.
Add your reference photos.
Use a well-lit JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB, with the face unobscured. A photo where the subject is easy to identify gives the model more useful information than a distant group shot. Choose Remake scene to add up to six characters, specify their outfits and describe a new setting. You can add a setting photo too.
Identify the person to replace.
Use their starting position and visible clothing, such as ‘the number-24 player in the foreground’ or ‘the man in the black hat holding a cup’. Describing the original performer is more reliable than naming a face in an already-swapped example.
Review the credit quote.
Sign in with Google. The studio shows the exact price before you generate. You confirm that you are 18 or older and have permission to use the clip and likeness. You do not need to buy a separate Higgsfield subscription or configure an API key.
Review and share the result.
Find your completed edit in My videos. ClipCrasher restores the source reference’s audio. Check faces, hands, timing and other people before sharing; label the result as an AI edit.
Face swap, character replacement or motion transfer?
People use all three phrases for this trend. A face swap mainly changes facial identity. Reference-based character replacement can also reinterpret hair, clothing and body appearance. Motion transfer describes using an existing performance to guide a new character. The amount that changes depends on the model, inputs and instructions.

AI video memes, explained.
How do people make AI face-swap videos and character-replacement memes?
They combine a source video with a reference photo and use AI video editing to recast a person in the scene. In ClipCrasher, choose a meme template or upload a clip, add a clear photo, describe who to replace, then review the credit quote before generating. The source clip guides the performance and camera movement; visual consistency varies.
Is ClipCrasher free, and how much does a video cost?
Browsing templates is free. Generating a video requires prepaid credits: 600 credits ($6) for clips up to 8 seconds; 1,000 credits ($10) for clips up to 15 seconds; 1,500 credits ($15) for clips up to 30 seconds. There is no subscription or free generation allowance. The exact price appears before you generate.
Do I need a Higgsfield subscription, API key or editing software?
No separate Higgsfield subscription, API key or editing software is needed to use ClipCrasher. Sign in with Google and use studio credits. ClipCrasher connects to the video provider on the server; you do not need to configure a model yourself.
What is the difference between a face swap and AI character replacement?
A conventional face swap mainly changes a face. Reference-based AI video editing can reinterpret a person’s appearance more broadly, including hair or clothing. Swap a person keeps the original background and other people. Remake scene supports up to six character photos, individual outfit directions and a new setting, with an optional setting photo. Both use the source performance and timing as guidance; an AI edit can change details and does not guarantee a pixel-identical scene.
Can I use my own video, and how long can it be?
Yes. Upload a source video up to 30 seconds and 50 MB, or choose a prepared template. Add a JPG, PNG or WebP reference image up to 10 MB. A template’s generation-reference duration determines its price; a viral example can be longer than that reference, so check the displayed output length.
Does the video keep the original sound?
ClipCrasher restores the source video’s audio onto the generated video. For a prepared template, that means the generation reference’s soundtrack, which can differ from the music or edit in a viral example. You need permission to use the clip, soundtrack and likenesses.
Why do AI faces sometimes glitch or change during a video?
Hands covering a face, profile turns, fast movement, small faces and several people crossing can make identity matching harder. Use a clear, well-lit reference photo and describe one visible target precisely. A shorter, simpler clip can help, but a perfect likeness or a particular result is not guaranteed.
Are uploads public, and what happens if generation fails?
Your uploads and generated videos are private to your account and authorised administrators. Published studio templates are public. Provider failures and moderated jobs return deducted studio credits. A completed video with visual imperfections is not automatically a failed generation; contact support about a problem with a completed edit.
